EMBONAS

Embonas is a village located in a higher altitude compared to other villages, south of the capital of the island, at an altitude of 850 metres. Due to its altitude, the village is not really affected by tourism. Some of its inhabitants still wear local costumes and are all keeping the local customs and tradition, passing from a generation to another. Traditional products such as fine multicoloured embroideries are produced in Embonas and are an important part of the local traditions. Traditional cafes and taverns serving some mouth-watering specialties can be found all around the village.
